For Valentine’s Day Week we finished off our Manners unit by having a proper Tea Party. We practiced saying “please”, “thank you”, and using all of the good manners we have learned. We also enjoyed  juice, chocolate milk, and Valentine sugar cookies and candies. Thank you to all the students who also shared Valentines with us. We had a lot of fun!

Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

During the week of Jan. 18th, we had a “Dream Wall” in our classroom to help celebrate Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. We talked about having a dream to make the world a better place, and the students shared some of their dreams in their art projects.

Before the break, we have been learning about “communities.” We had a lot of fun working on our Winter Wonderland and Candyland village dioramas!  We also enjoyed making holiday ornaments. From the Cloverbuds staff, we wish you a wonderful Winter Break and a Happy New Year! See you in January.

Giving Thanks to Castle Rock Police

For Thanksgiving this year, and for our communities unit, we collected donations for a gift basket to give to our local police department to say “thanks” for all they do for our community.  Officer Penry came to our classroom for a visit, and talked to the kids about being a police officer. At the end, we surprised him with the gift basket to take back and share with his fellow officers.
